Fortress Technology Inc.

Fortress Technology has grown out of the need for a new approach to metal detection systems. Manufacturers, both large and small, want high performance metal detectors that are simple to set up, reliable, and easy to operate.

From initial system design through to installation and set-up, Fortress metal detectors are straight forward, simple to use and very power efficient. There are no remote control or power supply enclosures to mount and no forest of wires to connect. Product set up, calibration and testing are all easily performed without special training.

With 50-60% less parts than the competitors, attention to thermal efficiency and a superior integral design, Fortress detectors have proven themselves to be extremely rugged and reliable. The wide range of their unique automatic balance system eliminates the need for manual balance adjustments under ambient conditions that can go from a freezer tunnel to a bakery oven output.

The performance of Fortress metal detectors is exceptional. They always endeavor to provide the customer with realistic, achievable sensitivity expectations and they offer a full refund to customers who are not satisfied with the operation of the equipment.

Fortress Technology was created with the belief that through better design and engineering, they could produce high technology sensing equipment that would make life simpler for their customers. The phenomenal market response to the products has reaffirmed their belief in the concept of simple, reliable, high performance metal detection systems.

Starting in a garage in 1996, partners Dino Rosati and Steve Gidman developed a 'minimalist' metal detector designed for machinery protection applications in textile, wood and plastics industries. The performance of their analog "Pinpoint" model turned out to be superior to most digital metal detectors targeted at food applications. The Pinpoint became the basis of the "Phantom" Digital Signal Processing model.

The success of these products forced three relocations to take place in three years and finally, in 2001, Fortress moved into its own purpose built facility with enough land to allow for future expansion.

The key to their success throughout this growth period has been a combination of an extensive sales network throughout the US, Mexico, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Asia, and their ability to attract creative, innovative people to their design and production site in Toronto. With installations in over 25 countries, Fortress will continue designing new products that focus on providing their customers with simple, reliable performance.
